Mental Health

Mental health encompasses our psychological, emotional, and social well-being and affects our thoughts, feelings and actions. Positive mental health allows individuals to cope with stress, develop interpersonal relationships, make healthy lifestyle choices, contribute to their communities and maintain productivity. Biological factors, life experiences, and family history may all contribute to the development of mental health problems. According to SAMHSA, approximately 18.29% of American adults struggle with mental health issues annually. Psychotherapy, medication management, and self-care have proven to be beneficial in treatment. A combination of these strategies increase the likelihood of recovery so that individuals may achieve their full potential.
